The hard part of an anime companion is not the art style — it is staying on model. Generated characters normally drift: the hair changes length, the eyes change colour, the face becomes someone else two pictures in.
These eight are locked to a reference the same way the photoreal cast is, so the character you picked is the character you keep. Six women and two men, across the archetypes people actually ask for — genki, cool, sweet, elegant, brat — each with their own voice and persistent memory.
Worth setting expectations honestly: the art leans painterly and semi-realistic rather than flat cel-shaded anime, because it is generated on a photoreal base model. If you want hard cel-shading, that is not what this is yet.

How many anime companions are there?
8: Yumi, Rei, Sakura, Kaori, Natsuki, Mio, Ryo, Hikaru. The cast is curated rather than crowd-sourced, and the builder covers anything it does not.
Can I build my own instead?
Yes. The builder takes gender, face, body type, ethnicity, age, hair, voice and personality as direct inputs, and locks the resulting face so it stays consistent in every photo.
Will they look the same in every picture?
Yes. Every companion is generated against a locked reference identity, so each photo is the same person in a new pose or setting rather than a different face each time.
Do they remember our conversations?
Yes. Memory persists between sessions — your name, your preferences, your moods and the dynamic between you all carry forward.
Is there a voice?
Yes. Each companion speaks in a voice you choose, and you can reply by talking rather than typing.
